Emergency Pill (also known as "morning after pill") Description
Direct Pharmacy provides this confidential and convenient service to plan ahead and receive emergency contraceptive pill before you need it.
Effectiveness
There is insufficient data that emergency pill is effective after 72 hours of unprotected sex. The emergency pill is more effective as early you take, 95% if taken within 24 hours, 85% if taken within 48hours and 58% if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sex.
Potential side effect
Can cause nausea, stomach pain, fatigue, dizziness, headache, diarrhoea and vomiting and breast tenderness

What if I have vomiting after taking emergency pill?
If you vomit within two hours of taking the emergency pill, means the pill did not work and you would need to take a second emergency pill. It is a good idea to keep more than one pill at home.

- Please visit your local pharmacy, GP or family planning clinic if you have already had unprotected sex and you need emergency contraceptive pill straight away.
- Our doctor can not prescribe the emergency pill to women aged less than 18 and men can not request on behalf of partners.
- Our doctor can not prescribe the emergency pill to women aged less than 18 and men can not request on behalf of partners.
- The emergency pill does not provide any protection against STIs

What happen after you make payment?
If our GP decide that this treatment is suitable for you, they will send us private prescription and we will dispatch medication.
If our GP decide that you do not require any medication for your condition, you will receive full refund.
Whole consultation is free, our GP will only charge you if they issue a prescription.
